the story
What once began in 2003 as an intimate gathering of 30 close friends in the backyard of her parents’ home has evolved into a movement of young philanthropists sweeping the nation. Revitalizing the non-profit scene with her keen eye for unique event experiences, Founder Nilo G., was motivated by a personal experience of watching her best friend’s mom battle breast cancer.
Over the years, The OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser has breathed new life into this worthy cause by encouraging the involvement of young men and women. With its eighth year rapidly approaching, The OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser presses on from it’s first debut raising $150 to now raising more than $20,000 per year, with attendance of 500+ guests.
But the story continues…
Endeavoring to spread the movement of philanthropic outreach amongst a generation of young professionals, Nilo decided to multiply her efforts in 2009 by launching The San Francisco Breast Cancer Fundraiser.
The OCBCF officially transformed into THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser and her event production agency, Kapture Vision, helped take the event to new levels and new markets. After a successful inauguration in Northern California, their next stops on the map were San Diego and New York City.
Throughout its evolvement, THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser continues to uphold 3 core principles:
1) To increase awareness and inspire philanthropic involvement among a community of young adults
2) To raise money for credible organizations who focus on breast cancer research and awareness
3) To honor local breast cancer fighers and survivors
All proceeds are donated to the local Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure
We invite you to join the movement…
